Danscentrum Sverige invites Swedish based choreographers to an Open

Call for Big Pulse Dance Alliance Visiting Artist Program. The Visiting Artist

Program is aimed at up-and-coming choreographers. Big Pulse is a four-

year EU project that runs 2021-2024. Danscentrum Sverige is the Swedish

partner.

About the Visiting Artist Program

The Open Call offers one choreographer the opportunity to visit CODA Oslo

International Dance festival in Oslo. The program will include a meeting with

the Artistic Director of the festival, get-togethers with local artists, tickets to

festival performances and networking with choreographers from other

European countries. The program is a great opportunity for skills

development, creative exchange and to expand you network. A bursary is

given to cover travel, per diem, accommodation, performance tickets as

well as a small retainer.

How to apply

Write a short letter (max half an A4 page), in English, in which you motivate

the value for you as a performing artist to participate in the Visiting Artist

Program at CODA. Include a link to your web site, a showreel or such. The

linked video materials should not extend 5 minutes. Submit your application

The application process

Danscentrum Sverige makes a first selection if there are a large number of

applicants. The receiving festival and the project manager for Big Pulse are

responsible for the final selection. The decision will take into account the

selected choreographers from the other partner festivals, to ensure that the

constellation enriches the experience.

Proposed travel days: Arrival daytime 17th of October and

afternoon/evening 21st of October.

Big Pulse Dance Alliance is a 4-year partnership (2021-2024) of 12

European dance festivals and institutions united by their passion to

promote, strengthen and broaden the reach of the contemporary dance

sector. With the support of EU Creative Europe co-funding, Big Pulse aims

to diversify dance programming on stages and in public outdoor spaces;

support artist development through mentorship, travel and workshop

programmes; and invite new audiences to engage with the art form through

dynamic live or digital performances and other participatory activities. The

Open call – Tanzmesse 2024

Nu har Danscentrum Sverige registrerat montern Swedish Dance till Tanzmesse 2024 som hålls i Düsseldorf, Tyskland, 28-31 aug 2024.

Open call för Tanzmesses program är öppen och alla sverigebaserade professionella danskonstnärer är välkomna att skicka in sina ansökningar till programmet via monter Swedish Dance för 25 EUR/ansökan som betalas direkt vid ansökningstillfället. Deadline för ansökan är den 15 september.

Internationale tanzmesse nrw invites professional contemporary dance artists, companies, professionals and organisations to submit proposals for the Performance Programme for the edition 2024. The upcoming Tanzmesse will take place 28 – 31 August 2024 in Düsseldorf.

Criteria for the selection

are the originality of movement and choreographic practice (1), relevance of topics and aesthetics (2), potential for international cooperation & invitation (3), geographic spread (4), and diversity of backgrounds (5).

In the Performance Programme, artists will present selected full-length performances on stage, in public spaces and digitally to international visitors and a public audience. This includes works aimed at intergenerational or young audiences. In the Open Studios, artists present their artistic productions through a short physical presentation and a Q&A. In an Insight, professionals give a media-based presentation to share production methods, project ideas, networks, collaborations, and other endeavours in the field of dance.

Deadline for proposals

Proposals will be accepted from June to 15 September 2023.

Ny ordförande Danscentrum Sverige

Anne-Sofie Eriksson ny styrelseordförande

På Danscentrum Sveriges årsmöte, den 30 maj, valdes Anne-Sofie Eriksson in som ny styrelseordförande för Danscentrum Sverige. Vår tidigare ordförande, Maria Rydén som med stort engagemang och kunskap drivit den fria dansens frågor i sex år, avtackades samma dag.

Välkommen Anne-Sofie

Danscentrum Sverige hälsar Anne-Sofie Eriksson varmt välkommen till Danscentrum. Vi är övertygade om att hon med sin enorma erfarenhet och kunskap inom danskonstområdet kommer att bli en stor tillgång för Danscentrum Sveriges arbete.

”Uppdraget som ordförande för Danscentrum Sverige är mycket inspirerande. Min förhoppning är att jag med detta ordförandeskap och med min breda, långa erfarenhet från scen- och danskonsten nationellt, nordisk och internationellt fortsatt är delaktig i och bidrar till plattformar som stärker dansfältet för konstnärlig och organisatorisk utveckling av danskonstnärers verksamhet. Vi har många områden att kämpa för och det som känns särskilt viktigt just nu är att säkerställa de ekonomiska förutsättningarna för den fria dansen efter pandemin. Att verka för det tillsammans med Danscentrum ser jag som en fantastisk möjlighet.”

Om Anne-Sofie

Anne-Sofie kommer senast från en tjänst som verksamhetschef för produktionshuset SITE i Farsta där hon var verksam i tio år. Hon har varit administrativ chef på Göteborgsoperans danskompani, chefsproducent på Cullberg, konstnärlig ledare för nordiskt center för scenkonst, NordScen, i Köpenhamn och administrativ chef på Dansens Hus i Oslo. Hennes fokus och engagemang har sedan åren på NordScen legat på den fria dansens möjligheter till utveckling – konstnärligt och inom verksamhetsfrågor.

Anne-Sofie är utbildad skådespelare. Efter utbildningen till producent på Dramatiska Institutet 1992 började hon arbeta med scenkonst i olika format. Hon var ansvarig producent på Riksteatern med Unga riks och startade och drev den flerkulturella ensemblen Shikasta.
